Bologna Children's Book Fair
Representing Seed Design, Rights Trading

Different trades are worlds apart
That’s how I make my opening move.
This is a negotiation among allocators of resources.
Long years of training as a publishing professional.
A book is treated, as a matter of habit, as a rational commodity
but it’s judged on feeling.
Content is what the creator has to worry about.
Someone who cares about content.
I’m 19, at the Bologna Children’s Book Fair in Italy
I’m a newborn calf.
In the vast world of publishing, how could anyone dare be arrogant?
They must simply have seen too little, too shallowly, too lightly, too thinly…
Content is king
The flood of rights negotiations at the Bologna Children’s Book Fair is thousands upon thousands of opportunities, arriving and leaving, leaving and arriving again.
All I can do is meet it head-on
with rapid-fire, rap-speed English and a smile that never falls.
Today, 7 publishers happily told us they loved our work and simply had to work with us!
Receiving business cards with notes saying they loved our work
it felt like an olive branch.
We’ve come this far on nothing but talent.
World, here I come.
Sometimes you can rise above the waves and see the best view of your life, and sometimes you can be falling in deep, drowned by the heavy surf.
Playing the role of the scholar-merchant is truly a superbly difficult task to pull off.
On my own path, I don’t copy anyone else’s way.
Book-selection themes: forests, islands, a double major of mountain and sea.
Long live content.
